An ancient yogic detox program to cleanse, restore, and renew your digestive health.
Shankhaprakshalana is a yogic cleansing technique of the whole gastrointestinal tract (mouth to the anus), which is followed by a precise series of asanas. It is more than a purification technique. It’s a holistic approach to eliminate impurities from the digestive system for better physical and mental health.
The practitioner has to perform complete 5-6 rounds as per the technique’s requirement that might take approximately one to one and half hours. It starts with the intake of a cup of lukewarm saline water. It includes Tadasana, Tiryakatadasana, Katichakrasana, Tiryak Bhujangasana & Udarakarshanasana.
Stage | Description |
---|---|
🥗 Stage 1 – Detox Salad Day | On the first day, participants consume a specially formulated three-color detox salad for breakfast and dinner, replacing regular meals. This high-fiber salad, enriched with cleansing herbs, aids in speeding up metabolism, binding and removing toxins, and regulating the elimination process. Participants continue with all daily retreat activities as usual. |
🥗 Stage 2 – Light Salad + Hydration | The second day mirrors the first, with continued consumption of the detox salad, albeit in smaller portions. Ample water and herbal teas are encouraged to support the detoxification process. Participants engage in daily retreat activities as they feel comfortable. |
🧃 Stage 3 – Juice Fast | On the third day, solid foods are eliminated and replaced with raw vegetable juices consumed four times daily, 500ml each serving. This approach further enhances cleansing by giving the digestive tract a rest while providing essential nutrients through vitamins and minerals present in the fresh juices. Participants may drink as much strained vegetable broth, herbal tea, and water as desired throughout the day. |
💧 Stage 4 – Saltwater Flush | The final day involves performing Shanka Prakshalana, a saltwater flush of the entire digestive tract. This ancient yogic practice is guided and supervised by trained and experienced yoga teachers to ensure safety and effectiveness. |
The final stage of the cleanse — Shanka Prakshalana — is a powerful ancient yogic technique. At Yogaban, it’s only practiced under the guidance of trained and experienced teachers.
We ensure that all participants are fully informed, physically prepared, and gently supported throughout the process for maximum benefit and safety.
